The intriguing, and initially puzzling, title "Raw Shark Texts", particularly when spoken out loud, bears a striking resemblance to "Rorschach Tests", perhaps more popularly known as "Inkblot Tests". The connection is reinforced by the cover art of some editions of the book, for instance at http://www.myspace.com/stevenhallbooks, and by the Ink Blot Tests at http://rawsharktexts.com/. There is also the obvious connection with one of the central questions of the text - are the Conceptual Fish real entities in a parallel universe or imaginary entities in our universe?
